Adjunct Faculty Teaching Load (Policy 2.143)
- It is the policy of the College that temporary, adjunct instructors/professors are designated as Adjunct Faculty. This designation includes instructional (teaching) faculty only.
- In addition to teaching classes, Adjunct Faculty are expected to spend time preparing for class, meeting with students, grading student work, learning institutional procedures and corresponding with departmental representatives.
- The amount of time that an adjunct faculty member will spend on these professional work requirements will vary by the type of courses taught.
- Each college credit adjunct faculty member will provide 1.8 hours of service (representing a combination of teaching or classroom time and time performing related tasks such as class preparation and grading of examinations or papers) per week for each hour of teaching or classroom time.
- Each post-secondary adult vocational (PSAV) or adult education (ABE/GED/AHS/ELI), or applied music adjunct faculty member will provide 1.6 hours of service (representing a combination of teaching or classroom time and time performing related tasks such as class preparation and grading of examinations or papers) per week for each hour of teaching or classroom time.

College Credit, Adjunct faculty may be assigned to teach no more than 12 faculty contact hours per week during any term/session. Unless under certain circumstances with written approval of the Vice President, Academic Affairs.
Payroll Information
Adjunct employees of the College are paid twice each month on the 15th and the last business day of the month. If the 15th or the last business day of the month is not a workday, the checks will be distributed on the last workday prior to the regular pay date. Checks may be mailed or directly deposited to your account.
Employees must have all employment paperwork completed in order to receive a check. Be sure to contact the department Office Supervisor to determine if you have completed all the paperwork in order to receive your pay.
