LAE3414 Children's Literature

The purpose of this course is to provide preservice teachers with the fundamental concepts and processes for using Children’s Literature in the Elementary School. Preservice Teachers gain survey knowledge of Children’s Literature and learn how to incorporate literature within the language arts curriculum, for all students (ELs, students of different backgrounds, and students with exceptionalities). This course includes a study of various literary genres appropriate for use in the classroom. This course will place an emphasis on meaningful teaching and learning.
