BCN2272 Construction Plan Reading

In this introductory course students will develop the knowledge and skills involved in the effective use and interpretation of the construction documents and specifications. Students will learn how to examine a variety of different types of plans included within a standard set of construction documents such as, civil, architectural, structural, MEP, fire protection and communications to understand the scope of the project and schedules required to construct a project. Industry-standard construction abbreviations, symbols and reading the various architectural scales will be introduced. Basic math skills using fractions, area and volume will be applied.
